Chocolate

Ooo – they look so delicious. If only she could sneak just one. No one would have to know that she was cheating on her diet. What harm would one little chocolate chip cookie do?
Her mouth watered thinking about the soft buttery flavor. Heavenly chocolate beckoned her, each chip melted to a sweet smoothness with its slightly rounded point.
Irresistible – her hand was inches away from the plate. Not a soul in the room. No one would know, fingertips barely touching the glass plate.
“Ellen, can you bring that plate of cookies out? Everyone is ready for desert.”
Ellen let out a soft sigh. “I got them.” Carefully, she lifted the plate off the counter. That was a close call. Her diet was safe for another day.

Dear Writer’s Block – ROW80

Dear Writer’s Block,

It’s not you, it’s me. I know we’ve been together for over a year, but it is time for us to part ways. So, I will no longer be sitting with you and talking to you. It is over, and time for us to move on. I’ve stories to write and worlds to build. I want to put characters in desperate situations and see how they get out of them. I want to help them find love, romance, and to finally find happiness.

For the past year, you haven’t made me happy. You’ve only made me procrastinate by playing online games on Facebook. Isn’t that what social media is for?

But it’s over between you and me. I have NaNo coming up next month and I want to finish 50k words in 30 days. I’ve never done it and this year has to be my year to shine.

I don’t want you to be unhappy. Believe me, you will find someone else to spend your time with. I know you will be in touch, but don’t expect me to call.

I don’t love you, and never have loved you. It’s not fair to you to be around someone who doesn’t like you. Feel free to find someone else.

What I’m trying to say, is that, I’m breaking up with you. So sorry to waste your time, but what is time to you anyways. I should have had two books already published this year. Instead, I will be lucky to have completed one.

Goodbye my Blocked Head and may peace follow you wherever you go.

Sincerely,

Your latest Writing Victim

ROW80:

I’m back! NaNo is right around the corner. I still don’t know what my NaNo story will be about, let alone a title. Will it be Contemporary or Fantasy? Even that I don’t know yet.

That secret wip is coming to a close. I have another 10k words to go before I’ve hit the end of the story. Sometimes it is hard for me to write the ending. I’m never sure if it is enough.

I guess what I need to focus on is whether or not it is a happy ending. If it is a happy ending then, it is the end of the story. No happy ending means the story must go on until I’ve got that happy ending.

Yesterday, I wrote almost 2k words. I consider this pretty good since I’ve been plagued by writer’s block for the past year. It all started half way through NaNo. I don’t want to continue with this writer’s block. My goal for the coming writing season is to write a minimum of 200 words a day. If I can do this, it may keep me writing long enough to get back into the good writing habits I had a few years ago.

So how’s your writing going? Did you pick a NaNo title yet? Do you have NaNo buddies? I would be more than happy to be your buddy.
