Test of Time

What’s something you’ve done that your past self would be proud of?

Ten years ago, I would never have thought I would be where I am today.

I survived the death of my son, though losing him still hurts, I have just learned to live with the pain. I think of him every day.

I completed 6 years of school and scored my master’s in accounting. Though I have not done much with that knowledge. Maybe my next step is to become a certified tax advisor.

Mom passed away 2 years ago. This forced me to buy her house. I did this because I didn’t want to move.

Then Mike passed away last April. Now I have nothing to keep me here. I can move anywhere in the world. I set a goal of moving to upstate NY to be with my daughter and grandkids. It would sure be nice to take part in their lives.

Freshly painted

So, I decided to sell the house after all. In the past four months I learned to sheet rock and paint.

It was so hard to go through all the stuff in the house and decide what to keep and what to toss. Almost everything I kept is sitting in storage. I kept a TV, computer chair, and a bed. I’m living out of one room. Living without normal comfort such as table and chairs, living room furniture, and everyday stuff is tiring. I miss the life I was living before Mike passed.

The house is still on the market. It’s day 38. I hope it sells soon. It would be so nice to move on with my life.

  1. In such a time as this, dear Father I just pray for your comfort upon Linda. It is never easy but I know you see her. Allow her to feel your presence. I pray for your favor that the house be sold at the right time, right amount and right buyer. I pray today wrap her with peace Lord knowing she is never alone she has you and you have her best interest at heart. Thank you. In Jesus name amen
